I have many regrets...

The MUSES of Men

Monday Memories,

We should constantly reflect on our past and what we’ve done, but more importantly, we must consider the actions we could’ve taken.

Thought(s) of The Day

Regret is a tool that reminds you not to make the same mistake twice.

A Story

I had known a very pleasant old lady by the name of Mrs. Picke — a friend of my grandmother’s. She cared deeply for me, and was always giving me gfits since I was a boy. Even though she was scary to me when I was younger fellow, I still cherished what little time I visited her.

As I grew to become a teenage and adult, of course, I saw her much less. When I was able to start driving in high school I made a promise to myself to visit her one day after school to show her how much I’ve grown and to show her my school uniform — at the time I was in 6th form.

But alas, constant push backs to visit her, until she died a few months after. I missed my opportunity. I had become regretful.

To make up for it, at her funeral I wore my uniform and blazer, it was the least I could do in her death.

The Lesson from Regret

I now know that death awaits us all, and that things and people we care about can vanish. As a result I’ve made a lot more of an effort to spend time with my grand mother and mother, even if it inconveniences my ability to be efficient in life. I don’t know when they may be gone, so I try to be around them as much as possible.
