Lack Luster Sunday,

It’s really crunch week. The end of the year is upon us once again. I can see it in the quality of my writing for the newsletter. There’s a lot to focus on currently.

Many of us, are trying to tie the remaining loose ends for the year.

🧐 Thought(s) of the Week

Barbershop talkings.

The barber shop is a unique space where I’ve heard many things about other people’s lives.

This time, I heard about many dangerous and corrupted life experiences of what I assume to be a former police officer.

It’s not enough to be human to garner respect.

Fear is a driving factor for garnering respect.

Power. Status. Money

Are the levers to garner respect?

World war 1

Recently, I was prompted to look into World War 1 history by the mentions of the cycle of war and what happened from a comment Elon Musk made.

One thing I’ve taken note of is that as I’m listening to a BBC podcast that details the macro aspects of the war.

I’m able to make a contrast to individual experiences of World War 1.

Recently, I had listened to the story of Bugatti as a micro event of that war and how it affected his life.

It’s very interesting, to see these differences and how one event can affect an individual.

📚Interesting Content

1 - Compounding

Compounding applies to relationships too not just with your partner, but with your colleagues, friends, and even your customers. For relationships to compound, they must be win-win. But how many people take a consistent win-win approach? Not many. Again, we know what works, but fail to align ourselves with it.”

“Feeling right,“ often requires you to believe you are an exception. You know the path to financial independence, but that takes too long. It’s boring. Instead, you’d rather try the latest incarnation of a get-rich-quicker scheme that promises the outcome sooner. When it inevitably fails to produce the desired results, rather than tell yourself you made a mistake you chalk it up to the world not working as it should. It’s as if that little voice in your head says, “You’re not wrong; the world is.”
